Hello all! I am three weeks late!! Yikes. Where have I been?
Well, we are now wrapping up our fourth week of the school year (but who is counting, right?). It has been a great 4 weeks so far, and I'm not just saying that. We have had our issues here and there, but this is a resilient group of kids who take and learn from mistakes. What more could I ask for as a teacher?!
We have been establishing routines and getting to know each other. I learn something new about almost each student every day. I tend to bring out the silly side in kids, but it's great because it allows us to practice self-control. That is a necessary skill if you ask me.
Homecoming was this week and at the end of the day, they will be the coronation crowning the king and queen.
We have been taking a break from MN Studies for social studies to focus more on the election process. I love how enthusiastic the kids are about it!
Homework has not been something parents have had to worry about so far. We have been using class time to get work done. The 30 minutes of reading every night has not been directly enforced yet, but it will start next week.
I hope parents see and read this! Let me know if you have by commenting. I will be up on these posts now that we are getting into the flow and starting breaking off into small groups, etc.
As always, call, email, message me with any comments, questions, or concerns. I always welcome parents to come and visit and help in the classroom if you are interested. Please just let me know.
Have a fantastic weekend!!
